To strengthen the development of the postgraduate supervisor team and improve the effectiveness of supervision, our school held the first postgraduate supervisor work meeting of this semester on the afternoon of March 11 in the conference room on the 5th floor of West Campus Building. Zhao Zhihou, the Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, attended the meeting presided over by Dean Cao Ruonan.

At the meeting, Zhao Zhihou exchanged views with the supervisors on three aspects: ideology, employment work, and teacher ethics and conduct. He pointed out that amid the complex and changing international situation, it is necessary to enhance awareness of ideological risk prevention and build a solid ideological defense line. Secondly, we should steadily advance the employment work of graduates, pay attention to students’ development needs, and provide targeted assistance. Thirdly, regarding the recent key tasks such as postgraduate admission re-examination and degree application, he reminded all supervisors to strictly abide by the work disciplines at both the university and school levels, be prudent in words and deeds, and perform their duties to promote the orderly progress of all work.

Cao Ruonan made overall arrangements for the postgraduate-related work of this semester. First, she reviewed the problems that had occurred in key links such as thesis proposal, pre-defense and degree application, and further put forward clear work requirements. Secondly, in accordance with the unified deployment of the university’s postgraduate training program revision work and combined with the school’s preliminary research results, she made unified arrangements for the revision of our school’s postgraduate training program. In addition, regarding key tasks such as postgraduate enrollment, degree thesis blind review and expert information submission, she reminded all supervisors to actively coordinate and cooperate, and implement all work in a detailed and thorough manner.

As the first person responsible for postgraduate training, supervisors are the key to improving the quality of postgraduate training. This supervisor meeting clarified the key tasks and directions of postgraduate education work in the new semester, further built consensus among the supervisor team, and laid a solid foundation for improving the quality of postgraduate training and promoting the development of postgraduate education in our school.
