On May 20, 2025, Professor Hassan Ragab, the Dean of the Confucius Institute at Suez Canal University in Egypt, was invited to visit our school for academic exchange and cooperation discussions. Dean Cao Ruonan warmly welcomed Professor Ragab on behalf of the school and engaged in an in-depth and friendly exchange with the guest regarding potential collaboration.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Cao briefly introduced the school’s recent achievements in talent cultivation, area and regional studies, and international exchange, highly praising the ongoing positive trend in the deepening cultural exchanges between China and Egypt. Professor Ragab reviewed the historical ties between China and Egypt, fully acknowledging the achievements our school has made in the development of regional and Country and Region Studies, and expressed a strong desire to further enhance academic exchanges.

During the exchange, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on areas such as inter-university cooperation, faculty exchange, research collaboration, and joint talent development, actively exploring new paths and mechanisms for Sino-Egyptian university cooperation. Professor Ragab also shared his personal academic insights and practical experiences on topics such as strengthening cultural mutual learning between universities, supporting exchanges among young scholars, and expanding cultural cooperation under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
This visit not only further strengthened the academic ties between our school and Egyptian universities but also opened up new avenues for cooperation in Country and Region Studies, cultural exchange, and educational collaboration with universities in Arab countries, while clarifying the direction for future exchanges.
