SFL Holds Review Meeting for Chinese Academic Translation Project

On the afternoon of April 8, 2026, the School of Foreign Languages held a review meeting for the 2026 Chinese Academic Translation Project at Conference Room 716. Professor Li Qin, a doctoral supervisor from the School of Advanced Translation and Interpretation of Xi'an International Studies University, was invited as the guest review expert for the event. The meeting was chaired by He Hua, Associate Dean of Research, and attended by faculty members intending to apply for this year's foreign translation project.

At the meeting, Professor Li Qin delivered a systematic presentation on the topic positioning, translation strategies and international communication pathways of the Chinese Academic Translation Project. She pointed out that the foreign translation of Chinese academic works must uphold the unity of academic rigor and communicability. On the premise of accurately conveying academic connotations, efforts should be made to improve the international expressiveness and communication effect of translated works, and steadily strengthen the international influence of Chinese academic discourse. Subsequently, Professor Li Qin provided one-on-one reviews of the project applications submitted by participating faculty members. She put forward targeted suggestions on the significance of selected topics, content framework, translation difficulties and publication feasibility, and gave detailed answers to relevant questions, providing critical reference for the further revision and improvement of the applications.

At the end of the meeting, Associate Professor He Hua delivered a concluding speech. She expressed gratitude to Professor Li Qin for her meticulous guidance and fully affirmed the outcomes of the meeting. She noted that the meeting, with its strong targeted guidance, had provided vital support for faculty members to refine their application materials and enhance project quality. She hoped that all participating faculty would carefully sort through the expert's feedback, further polish their applications, and elevate the overall quality and competitiveness of their translation projects.

This demonstration meeting has laid a solid foundation for the School to advance the Chinese Foreign Translation Project, and will help improve research standards and practical competence in relevant fields. Going forward, the School will continue to promote project development, steadily improve the quality of academic foreign translation, and facilitate the translation and dissemination of research achievements.
